How Do You Eat an Elephant?

How do you eat an elephant? Why of course, every person knows the answer is one bite at a time. We’ve all tackled and dealt with a large task, goal or project – or in other words, we’ve had to gleefully consume the so-called elephant.

At Alba Manufacturing we eat elephants daily – figuratively speaking – by manufacturing our products into “bite-size” pre-engineered modules or components.

A recent application, utilizing our products, involved an American automaker. Through several prominent system integrators (Alba Partner Network), we are an important supplier to this manufacturer. This project involved a conveying system to bring system boards with containers of automotive components weighing up to 3,300 lbs. from the receiving dock to an ASRS and from the ASRS to the assembly floor when needed.

We helped our customer determine the correct specifications and define the desired end goals. This allowed our customer to focus on what they do best and it allowed us to focus on what we do best – eating elephants, one bite at a time. Additional “bite-size” modules such as drag chain conveyor with fork truck barriers, centering devices, and blade stops were utilized.

Pre-engineering is the foundation of our business and it’s a critical component to serving our customers and their end users.
