With 17 years of experience as the Controller at Alba Manufacturing, Fred Puck has been a cornerstone of the company, handling all financial activities, credit and collection, and even taking on important HR responsibilities. But his journey didn’t start there.
Before joining Alba, Fred spent 20 years as the Corporate Controller and Vice President for a chemical company that had multiple domestic and international locations. In this role, he managed the complex financial operations of a global company. Interestingly, Fred worked alongside his identical twin brother during this time. His brother was a chemist, and their identical appearances often led to amusing mix-ups.
Fred’s career path began in New York City, where he was born. He later graduated from the University of Cincinnati, which set the stage for his successful career in finance. His knack for numbers and leadership qualities quickly propelled him to high-ranking positions.
Beyond his professional achievements, Fred has a unique personal story. When he was hired at Alba, the Office Manager, a huge hockey fan, thought it was a joke that someone with the last name “Puck” would be joining the team. This humorous misunderstanding still brings laughter when they meet, even after her retirement.
Fred’s commitment extends beyond the office. For many years, he has been deeply involved in youth soccer, both as a coach and a referee. His passion for the sport and dedication to mentoring young players have made a significant impact on his community.
Travel is another of Fred’s passions. He loves visiting Florida, especially during the cold months of January and February. Thanks to the flexibility and support of Alba’s management, Fred has been able to enjoy these trips while continuing to work beyond the usual retirement age. This balance has allowed him to maintain a fulfilling career while also enjoying personal time.
